CAREER NOTES:  Transferred to Tulsa after spending his first year at ETSU with head coach Tre Lamb … Has appeared in 12 career games and has 204 completions for 2,339 yards and 12 touchdowns ... Has rushed for 203 yards on 98 carries with three touchdowns.
 
2025: Appeared in 10 games while making nine starts at quarterback for Tulsa … Rewrote the TU Freshman Record Book as he set or tied three records this season.
  • Made his Tulsa debut at New Mexico State on September 6, 2025.
  • Led the team with 186 pass completions on 316 attempts, totaling 2,158 passing yards.
  • Achieved a team-high 12 passing touchdowns on the season.
  • Passed for a career-high 296 yards and three passing touchdowns against Temple on October 25, 2025.
  • Connected with Brody Foley for a 72-yard touchdown against Tulane, the longest player of the season for Tulsa.
  • Set a freshman record at TU with six 200-yard passing games.

PRIOR TO TULSA: Spent one year at ETSU where he appeared in two games and was 18-for-30 for 181 yards.
  • Hayes appeared in two games as a true freshman in 2024 for ETSU.
  • Made his debut on November 16 vs. Furman and in his first collegiate game, Hayes completed three of five passes for 42 yards.
  • Hayes would get the starting nod in the regular season finale at VMI on November 23.
  • He became the first true freshman to start for the Bucs under center since 1993.
  • In his first start, Hayes led the Bucs to a 16-9 win over the Keydets where he completed 15 of his 25 pass attempts for 119 yards. 
 
HIGH SCHOOL
  • Played for Clint Finch at Brentwood High School.
  • Named 6-6A Player of the Year.

  • Led Brentwood to the region championship.
