Brian McCurdy
Brian McCurdy joined The University of Tulsa men's soccer team as the Associate Head Coach in February of 2025.

McCurdy comes home to TU after spending seven seasons (2018-24) across town at Oral Roberts, where he helped the Golden Eagles go 66-31-14. During his tenure at ORU, he earned regular season conference titles and Coaching Staff of the Year awards in 2019, 2021 and 2022, earning national rankings on the United Soccer Coaches and Top Drawer Soccer polls in each of those seasons.

Regarded as one of the best recruiters in the nation, McCurdy was responsible for the recruitment of the Summit League's Newcomer of the Year in 2019, 2021 and 2023 as well as Luis Flores, the nation's leading goal scorer in 2023. In that same season, McCurdy helped coach ORU to become one of 10 teams in the country to finish top 25 in scoring offense and goals allowed.

For the 2017 season, McCurdy came back to Tulsa to be a volunteer assistant coach, helping the Hurricane earn six wins.

McCurdy previously coached for two seasons at Bacone College (2015-16), posting a 13-17 overall mark. It was a program that had not won more than two games in the previous 10 seasons before McCurdy stepped in. He went on to earn four wins in 2015 and nine wins (9-6) in 2016. A major factor of the turnaround was a strong recruitment strategy that landed 21 talented new players over a 16 month period.

During both his coaching tilts at ORU and Bacone, McCurdy was also an assistant coach for Tulsa Athletic, a Tulsa-based team in National Premier Soccer League, from 2014-15 and 2017-19. In his five seasons, he assisted the team to a 41-16-7 record and was responsible for scouting opponents, recruiting college players and graduates and developing athletes to ascend the American soccer pyramid.

Prior to Bacone, McCurdy served as the Head Coach at Union High School (2014) and Bixby High School (2009-14), leading his teams to the state playoffs in five of the six seasons.

McCurdy was a four-year letterwinner at Tulsa (2003-07), starting in 53 of 66 career contests. He tallied two goals and five assists for nine points, while attempting 34 shots from his midfield position. During his career, TU won the 2007 Conference USA Championship and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight during the 2004 season before falling to eventual national champion Indiana.

McCurdy has a USSF National D License. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Tulsa in 2007.
