The University of Tulsa women's golf team finished in second-place at the 2000 Topy Cup U.S.-Japan Intercollegiate Golf Championship played at the Tanagura Country Club in Tanagura, Japan.
The Hurricane scored a final round 302, while Texas, the only other U.S. team in the women's field, captured the team title with a final round 292 for an 891 total. Tulsa turned in a 54-hole score of 911.
Individually for the Hurricane, freshman Suzie Fisher carded a final round 73 for a 10-over par 226 total to finish in fourth place overall. Fellow newcomer Julie Tvede finished in a four-way tie for fifth place completing the tournament with a 227 score after a final round of 78.
Tulsa's two-time first-team All-American Stacy Prammanasudh had her 22nd career top-20 finish in 23 tournaments. After an opening round 84, the worst of her collegiate career, Prammansudh rebounded with rounds of 70 and 75 for a 229 total. This tournament marked just the first time in the last 14 events that Prammanasudh was not Tulsa's low golfer.
Junior Dani Mallon's 232 total was good for a five-way tie for 14th place, while sophomore Maiko Senda placed 23rd overall.
Texas' Kristin Dufour carded a one-under par 71 on the final day to finish as the tournament medalist. She led the event from day one and ended with a one-over par 217.
Tulsa is in action next at the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational, Sept. 21-23 at the Champions Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
