Three Second Half Goals Gives Tulsa Victory over Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Tulsa scored three goals within nine minutes late in the match here Friday night as the Golden Hurricane beat the University of Evansville in men's soccer, 3-0.
Evansville and Tulsa are now tied for fifth place in the Missouri Valley Conference at 4-4. The Purple Aces are 7-8-1 overall heading into Sunday's match at home against the nation's number one ranked team, SMU. Kickoff is at 1:30 CST at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Tulsa is now 9-8-0 overall.
Friday's evenly played match broke open quickly. TU's Brent Bayouth outraced Evansville's defense and scored from 13 yards away to make it 1-0 at 70:35. Bayouth came right back at 78:38 with his second goal of the match, on a rebound following a shot by teammate Kyle Brown. Then at 79:12, Brown beat two defenders down the middle of the field and scored from 10 yards.
Shots were even at 17 each. TU goalkeeper Brent Salter made four saves and his defense made two other goal-saving stops. UE goalkeeper Ed Moore made four saves.
