Second Round Quotes (May 1, 2001)

Tulsa Head Coach Bill Brogden:
"I'm pleased with the fact that almost every guy was able to hit it and finish good. They were able to make birdies and finish their shots. I feel that they are learning to understand adversity and some bad golf shots, and with that they can go back and play their golf game. With the wind and jungle, you've got to trust what you're doing."

(About David Inglis)
"David got a little revved up yesterday and did some very uncharacteristic things. He manages his shots well and today he hit his shots and managed his game well."

TCU Head Coach Bill Montigel:
"I don't think we played good on the back today. We played good on the front nine, but we had some big numbers overall. The thing that impressed me today was the Tulsa kid (David Inglis), he turned it around. The course played hard today and it was windy.

"I hope we can turn it around tomorrow. Our guys just have to come out and play the best they can. Tulsa is playing awfully well."

Tulsa's David Inglis:
"It started off good. I had a birdie on the first hole that set the tone for the day. To start off well was important. It got me fired up. I had birdies at three and nine, but I lost my way on the back nine with two bogey's to start off. I got it together and finished with three birdies. I played the first 12 today as I did yesterday, two-under. Yesterday I just couldn't finish and I let things slip. Today I pressed on and finished. I hit silly shots yesterday, but today I was smarter."

TCU's Scott Volpitto:
"Overall, I tried to keep it in play and play one hole at a time. I got to two-over after the turn, and then bogeyed at 12 and had two chances for birdies on the back nine but didn't make them. I didn't play great, but 74 isn't a bad round."
