TU Men's Tennis to Host Doubleheader This Saturday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's tennis team will look to continue its unbeaten streak at home this season when it hosts a doubleheader against Oklahoma Christian and Hampton this Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at The University of Tulsa. TU will face OCU at 9:00 a.m., followed by Hampton in the nightcap at 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for admission.

Tulsa, the nation's 47th-ranked team, has won four straight matches at home to open the 2002 spring campaign. The Golden Hurricane has given up just one point in four outings and has outscored its opponents, 27-1. TU downed Oral Roberts (7-0), North Carolina State (7-0), Southwest Missouri State (6-1) and Cowley County Community College (7-0) last week.

TU senior Dane McGregor was named the Western Athletic Conference men's tennis player of the week for matches played during Jan. 14-20. McGregor, a senior from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, led the Golden Hurricane to a 4-0 mark to begin the 2002 season. McGregor, who is the nation's 79th-ranked singles player, was a perfect 3-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles with teammate Shri Sudhakara. McGregor is Tulsa's 10th all-time winningest singles player with 56 career victories.
