Tulsa Captures Both Singles and Doubles Championship

Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa's Alejandro Tejerina defeated Arkansas's Aleksey Bubis, 6-3, 6-4 to win the Omni Hotels Men's Tennis Region V Singles Championship, while Tulsa's Ryan Livesay and Dustin Taylor defeated Arkansas's Bubis and Kristofer Ivarsson, 8-4 to win the Doubles Championship.
Tejerina, the tournament's second-seeded singles player, defeated two seeded-singles players and teammate Tom Murray en route to the final match. Bubis, who was not seeded in this tournament, defeated four seeded-singles players, including the tournament's first-seeded singles player Vedran Vidovic from Indiana State.
Livesay and Taylor, the tournament's first-seeded doubles team, defeated Indiana State's Lovre Brajkovic and Vedran Vidovic, the tournament's third-seeded doubles team en route to the title match. Bubis and Ivarsson, the fifth-seeded doubles team, won four matches including a defeat over Tulsa's Tejerina and Steve Timperley, to compete in the final round.
Tulsa's Tejerina, Livesay and Taylor earned spots in the November 7-10 Omni Hotels/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas.
