TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Theresa Schuknecht scored 14 points to help lead No. 23 Oklahoma to a 65-61 victory Friday night over Tulsa in the Bertha Teague Classic.

Caton Hill added 13 points, including 9-of-10 from the free throw line, and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Sooners (1-1). Chelsi Welch also had 13 points.

Allison Curtin led Tulsa (1-2) with 30 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Alyssa Shriver added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Tulsa scored the first nine points of the game and kept Oklahoma off balance for much of the half.

After the break, the Sooners quickly closed to within 30-29 on a 3-pointer by Erin Higgins and tied the game at 13:38 on Schuknecht's free throw.

Oklahoma took a 38-35 lead on another 3-pointer by Higgins 30 seconds later, and the Sooners never trailed after that.

The Sooners closed to within 17-10 on a jumper by Schuknecht at 11:11 in the first half, but Curtin's jumper four minutes later widened Tulsa's lead to 21-10.

Tulsa led at halftime 30-24.
