Box Score

Edinburg, Texas - Tulsa senior All-America candidate Allison Curtin recorded game-highs of 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as TU outscored Texas-Pan American 46-17 in the second, to defeat the Lady Broncs, 70-35, at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

The 35-point win marked the third-largest margin of victory in school history for the Golden Hurricane (3-3). Along with Curtin, a total of three TU players reached double-figures in scoring, including senior Alyssa Shriver with 14 points and sophomore Alison Carney with a career-high 11 points.

Tulsa suffered through a sluggish first half to hold a 24-18 lead at halftime. TU shot just 33-percent from the field, while holding the Lady Broncs to 27-percent from the field. Tulsa would have held just a three-point, 21-18, advantage at intermission, but following a UTPA score, Curtin calmly dribbled past the half court line and sank a 37-foot jumper at the buzzer to disrupt any momentum Texas-Pan American might have had.

TU came out in the second half and applied defensive pressure and continued to control the boards. Tulsa opened the second half with a 12-4 run and built a 14-point lead. Shriver scored 10 second half points to help fuel TU on offense and the Hurricane defense held the Lady Broncs to just a 7-of-26 performance (26.9 percent) in the final half. Tulsa shot 52-percent from the field and connected on 12-of-18 free throws to continue to add to its lead.
