American Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Pairings for 2026-27 Season

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the 2026-27 women's basketball pairings for the 18-game league schedule. Conference play begins Wednesday, December 30, 2026, and runs through Saturday, March 6, 2027.
Of the Golden Hurricane's 12 American opponents, Tulsa will face six teams twice – once at home and once on the road – and take on the remaining six conference foes once in three home games and three away contests.
Tulsa plays home-and-away games against Memphis, North Texas, Rice, South Florida, UTSA and Wichita State this upcoming season. TU will also host Charlotte, East Carolina and Tulane and travel to Florida Atlantic, Temple and UAB for road contests.
For the first time since 2020, the American Championship will be held at a member institution's home arena. South Florida's Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla., will host the 2027 and 2028 conference tournaments.
Head Coach Angie Nelp enters her sixth season at the helm coming off her fifth consecutive winning season of 17 or more wins.
Tulsa returns nine players from last year's squad, including Second Team All-Conference selection Mady Cartwright, seven-time Freshman of the Week Dora Toman and rising star Jade Clack. The trio combined to average 34.3 points per game to help push Tulsa to 19 wins – tied for the third-most in a single season in program history.
Tulsa welcomes five newcomers, including four true freshmen and one transfer player. McKenzie Jones (Springboro, Ohio), Camryn Schmidt (Fort Smith, Ark.) Jaelynn Scott (Holden, Mass.) and Hadar Cohen (Pardesiya, Israel) will see their first collegiate action, while junior Alexa Kinas (Kaukauna, Wis.) is bringing her talents from Loyola Chicago.
