East Lansing, Michigan - The Tulsa women's golf team begins its quest of a national title at the 2002 NCAA Central Regional this week in East Lansing, Michigan, Thurs-Sat., May 9-11. The par-72 Forest Akers West Golf Course, which measures 6,053 yards, plays host to the 54-hole tournament.
The field consists of 21 teams competing for 10 spots to the NCAA Championship, to be held May 21-24, at the Washington National Golf Course in Seattle, Washington.

A year ago, Tulsa won the NCAA Central Regional title with scores of 300-291-313 for a 904 total. Stacy Prammanasudh placed second at last year's regional event, while sophomore Suzie Fisher carded a fourth-place finish in her rookie campaign.
This season, Tulsa has won four tournament titles -- the Big 12 Invitational, TRW Regional Challenge, Ping/ASU Invitational and the Western Athletic Conference Championship. The Hurricane captured its fourth straight WAC Championship two weeks ago with a 25-stroke victory. The four wins this year is the most in a season for the Hurricane since winning an identical four tournaments in the 1997-98 campaign.
The Hurricane is led by Prammanasudh. A three-time first-team All-American, Prammanasudh has won three individual titles this year, including an impressive five-under par win in Tulsa's last outing, the WAC Championship. She was recently named the WAC Player of the Year for the third consecutive season.
