Tulsa Men's Soccer Trio Selected to Midwest Region Teams

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa men's soccer team placed three players on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Midwest Region teams, including sophomore Ryan Pore and junior Kyle Brown on the all-region first team, and junior Scott Kincaid on the third team, it was announced today by the NSCAA.
In just his second season of playing NCAA Division I soccer, Pore earned his first selection to the NSCAA Midwest Region first team. In 2003, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Missouri Valley Conference and to the all-conference first team. He became the youngest player in the MVC to every be named MVP. Pore concluded the season as the nation's second-leading scorer with 2.33 points per game, and also ranked second for goals scored. He registered 20 goals and nine assists for 49 points and tied former Golden Hurricane All-American, Frank Velez (1988-91), for first place on TU's single-season scoring list. Pore tallied three goals in TU's two NCAA Tournament games.
A native of Mansfield, Ohio, Pore notched two hat tricks on the year, becoming just the third TU player in school history to register two hat tricks in a single season. He received MVC Offensive Player of the Week honors three times this season, and was named to the CollegeSoccerNews.com National Team of the Week twice and was Soccer America Team of the Week once. For his career, Pore has 29 goals and 10 assists for 68 points, and ranks sixth for goals and 10th for points among TU's all-time leaders.
Brown is a repeat selection to the all-Midwest Region team. He was selected to the all-region second team in 2002. During the 2003 campaign, Brown started all 20 games he appeared in and registered 12 goals and 11 assists for 35 points. He was second on the team in goals and scoring and first for assists. His 11 assists were third best effort in one season and the most in a single season since 1994. He was named the MVC Offensive Player of the Week and was tabbed to the Soccer America National Team of the Week and to the CollegeSoccerNew.com National Team of the Week. He was named to the all-MVC First Team for the third straight year and became the first player in school history to receive All-MVC First Team honors for three straight seasons. He also picked up first-team accolades in 2001 and 2002.
Brown, who hails from Southlake, Texas, posted three game-winning goals and one game-tying goal. He currently boasts career numbers of 25 goals and 20 assists for 70 points, which puts him in eighth place among TU's career scoring leaders. He also ranks seventh among the school's career assists leaders. Brown tallied one goal and one assist for three points during TU's two NCAA Tournament games.
A native of Mission Hills, Kansas, Kincaid started 19 of 20 games as a defender and registered two assists for two points. He helped anchor a solid defensive unit that posted five shutouts and led the Golden Hurricane to a 4-3 record against nationally ranked teams. Kincaid, who is a first time selection to the all-region team, was named to the All-MVC First Team, and became the first TU defender to be named to the all-conference first team since Keith Williams (1991-95) in 1995.
Brown and Pore, who combined for 32 goals and 20 assists for 84 points and six game-winning goals this season, are TU's first all-region first team selections since former TU standout Robbie Aristodemo (1996-2000) received the same merits in 1998.
The trio of Brown, Pore and Kincaid helped lead the Golden Hurricane to the second most wins in school history with a 13-6-2 mark, and the best NCAA Tournament showing in school history with a second round appearance. TU also finished second in the MVC (6-1-2) and was nationally ranked for 11 straight weeks, including as high as No. 10.
