VCU Dominates Tulsa Men's Tennis Team, 7-0

Tulsa, Okla. - The 56th-ranked Tulsa men's tennis team fell, 7-0, to 19th-ranked Virginia Commonwealth Friday night at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus.

Florian Marquardt and Pedro Nieto upset Tulsa's 48th-ranked doubles tandem, Ryan Livesay and Dustin Taylor, in the top doubles slot, 8-5, as Tom Murray and John Matthews fell at the No. 2 position, 8-0. Alejandro Tejerina and Aleksander Charpantidis also fell to VCU, 9-8.

Virginia Commonwealth's Marquardt upset Tulsa's 38th-ranked Tejerina in the No. 1 singles position, 7-5, 6-4, while Marton Ott upset TU's 70th-ranked Taylor in the No. 2 position, 6-3, 6-0. Also in the top half of the lineup Tulsa's Livesay fell, 7-6, 6-0, to 125th-ranked Nieto.

In the bottom half of the lineup VCU's 111th-ranked Daniel Casquero defeated Olof Sjolund, 6-1, 6-1, in the No. 5 position.
