TU Men's Tennis Team Falls to TCU, 6-1

Tulsa, Okla. - The 51st-ranked Tulsa men's tennis team fell, 6-1, to 38th-ranked TCU on Saturday afternoon at The Bernard J. "Tut" Bartzen Varsity Courts in Fort Worth, Texas.
In the doubles competition, TU fought hard, pushing two matches into tiebreakers and netting a win in the No. 1 position, but the Golden Hurricane was not able to capture the doubles point. Tulsa's Dustin Taylor and Ryan Livesay overcame Fabrizio Sestini and Toni Gordon, 9-8, in the top slot, but Alejandro Tejerina and Aleksander Charpantidis weren't able to sustain and fell to Rafael Abreu and Jacob Martin in the No. 3 slot. Shunsuke Shimizu and Tom Murray also fell as TCU's Alex Menichini and Daniel Scholten netted an 8-4 victory.
TU's 102nd-ranked Taylor netted the Golden Hurricane's lone point as he overcame Sestini, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6, in the No. 2 singles position, while 45th-ranked Tejerina, who also went into a super tie-breaker, fell 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 to Menichini in the top slot.
Tulsa is in action again tomorrow as they face SMU in their first conference match of the season beginning at noon in Dallas, Texas.
