TU Women Golfers in 11th Place at Bryan National

Browns Summitt, North Carolina - After two rounds at the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summitt, North Carolina, the Tulsa golfers dropped from third to 11th place following a second round 311 on Saturday. The Hurricane, with a 297 score yesterday, takes a 608 total into the final round on Sunday at the par-72 Bryan Park Champions Course.

For the Hurricane, juniors Suzie Fisher and Julie Tvede are tied for 19th place. After an even-par 72 on day one, Fisher shot a 77 today, while Tvede turned in the best round on the day for Tulsa with a 76. The duo has a 149 total after 36 holes.

Tulsa's trio of freshmen -- Cas Bridge, Courtney Jones and Christine Fernandez -- follows Fisher and Tvede. Fernandez had the best round among the newcomers with a 78 today. Bridge and Jones carded rounds of 80 and 82, respectively. Bridge is in 52nd place with a 156 total, followed by Jones' 158 total for 58th place. Fernandez has a 159 total for 63rd place.

Duke continues to lead the tournament field with a four-over par 580 total following today's round of 294. Vanderbilt is close on the Blue Devils heals with an eight-over par 584 score. Vanderbilt turned in the best round of the day with a two-under par 286. The next closest is third-place Georgia with a 596 total, as Wake Forest's 597 and Tennessee's 600 round out the top five teams.

Individually, there's a four-way tie for first-place at two-under par 142 between Wake Forest's Nuria Clau, South Carolina's Kristy McPherson and the Vanderbilt pair of Courtney Wood and May Wood.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the final 18 holes.
