Tulsa Rolls Over Arkansas State

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - James Kilian threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tulsa to a 54-7 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday.
Kilian also ran for 51 yards as the Golden Hurricane defense forced four turnovers and shut down the Indians' ground game. Tulsa (2-2) held Arkansas State (2-2) to 45 rushing yards in building a 24-0 halftime lead.
Tulsa's Uril Parrish returned the opening kickoff of the second half 98 yards, setting up a 2-yard run by Eric Richardson. Kilian hit Romby Bryant on a 37-yard scoring strike to make it 37-0.
After Arkansas State scored its lone touchdown on a 22-yard run by quarterback Elliott Jacobs, Tulsa got three more scores on a 41-yard field goal by Brad DeVault, a 4-yard pass from Kilian to Garrett Mills and a 31-yard run by reserve tailback Brandon Diles.
The Golden Hurricane dominated from the start. After penalties killed a promising first drive, the Golden Hurricane settled for a 32-yard field goal by Devault.
Tulsa increased its lead to 10-0 on a 54-yard pass from Kilian to Montiese Culton. Jermaine Landrum returned a punt 41 yards for a score and freshman linebacker Nick Bunting intercepted a deflected pass and returned it 12 yards for another touchdown.
Arkansas State did not cross midfield until Les Echols intercepted a pass at the TU 49 with 1:11 left in the half.
The Indians finished with 271 yards total offense to 404 for TU. Jacobs completed just 5 of 21 passes for 50 yards with two interceptions.
Eric Richardson led Tulsa's rushing attack, gaining 75 yards on 16 carries. He moved into ninth place on the TU all-time rushing chart with 2,023 yards.
