Golden Hurricane Dominates Cross-Town Rival ORU, 6-1

Tulsa, Okla. - The Tulsa men's tennis team earned their third victory this weekend as they dominated cross-town rival Oral Roberts, 6-1, on Sunday evening at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on The University of Tulsa campus.
Seniors Dustin Taylor and Alejandro Tejerina recorded a win for the Golden Hurricane with an 8-3 mark over Adam Ehrlich and Tyrone Hill in the top doubles position, while senior Tom Murray and freshman Federico Soriano overtook ORU's Wessel Kemp and Umair Qayyum, 8-2, in the No. 2 slot. The match at the No. 3 position was not played.
Ricardo Rojas notched a Tulsa win in the No. 4 singles position, overpowering Golden Eagle Umair Qayyum, 6-2, 6-0, while teammate Olof Sjolund posted a victory in the No. 3 slot, a 6-2, 6-1 mark over Ehrlich. TU's Soriano, however, dropped a 4-6, 2-0 injury default decision to Hill in the top singles position.
The Golden Hurricane's Eduardo Gutierrez recorded a win, a 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 decision in the No. 5 slot, while Murray also went into a 10-point tie-breaker third set, finishing 6-0, 6-7, 10-7, in the No. 2 position. The No. 6 match was not played.
The Golden Hurricane continues its season as it hosts fifth-ranked Stanford next Saturday beginning at 6:00 p.m.
