Do you think the score was indicative of the game?"Yes,it probably was. We made way too many mistakes and Hawaii did a good job of capitalizing on those mistakes. We had it 13-13 in the first half and then drop an interception for a touchdown, then we throw an interception in the end zone for a touchdown. So we feel like the margin could have been better for us in the first half. So, yeah, I think the score is indicative of the way the second half was played.
Did big plays make a big difference for Hawaii?
"They did a nice job, and Timmy (Chang) did a nice job of throwing the football. Chad (Owens) made some big plays, the punt return for a touchdown, also had a couple of nice catches. They have a talented football team and I give them a lot of credit."
What do you think about your football team? What are they going to take out of this?
"I think the biggest thing is that we have to keep working and taking advantage of opportunities we get, and we didn't do that tonight. When you're playing a good football team on the road you have to take advantage of those situations because they won't continue to present themselves. We had some opportunities in the first half, and I felt like we could have had a 14 point lead, but we didn't take advantage of those."
This game kind of looked the same as last year's game, except for the second half. What do you think is different from this year and last year?
"Well last year's game was completely different from this year's game, I can't even compare the two. It's like comparing apples and oranges, every year is different, every year is new. The thing we didn't do, again, is take advantage of the opportunities in the first half. We didn't do a good job of minimizing good plays in the second half. "
Do you think the travel schedule made any difference to you, coming to Hawaii?
"No. There's no difference. They have to come over and play on the mainland, and we have to come over here. It wasn't a factor at all, I feel great and the players feel great, in terms of their bodies. It's a lot easier to go from East to West than West to East."
