Tulsa Trio Earn Intercollegiate Tennis Association Honors

Tulsa, Okla. - A trio of Tulsa men's and women's tennis players, Tom Murray, Dustin Taylor and Daniela Muscolino, received Intercollegiate Tennis Association central regional honors, as announced by the ITA. Murray claimed the ITA/Arthur Ashe, Jr. Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership, while Taylor was named the ITA/Farnsworth Senior Player of the Year. On the women's side, Muscolino was selected as the ITA Player to Watch.
Murray chalked up a career 40-19 singles mark and a 29-28 overall doubles record during his three years as a member of the Golden Hurricane men's tennis team. As a senior, he recorded a 20-11 singles mark, tallying the most singles victories for a TU men's tennis player this season, and notched 20 doubles wins. Murray was a candidate for the national ITA/Arthur Ashe, Jr. Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership.
Taylor concluded his collegiate career playing in the singles and doubles Division I Men's Tennis Championships, but dropped his singles and doubles match in the Round of 32. He netted a career 65-54 singles record and an 82-46 doubles mark. Taylor captured Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week accolades three times this season, tying his previous school and conference record for Player of the Week honors received by a men's tennis player in a singles season. He also received all-WAC first team singles and doubles accolades this year.
Muscolino chalked up a stellar sophomore year, posting a 24-8 singles record, including seven wins over ranked opponents. She earned all-conference singles and doubles first-team honors, and owns a career 45-17 singles mark and a 31-34 doubles record. Muscolino also advanced to the Round of 32 at the Division I Women's Tennis Singles Championships, marking her first appearance in the tournament, this year.
