Normal, Illinois - For a third straight day, the Hurricane women golfers struggled at the NCAA Central Regional on the par-71 Illinois State University Golf Course, and failed to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Tulsa carded a final round 326 and finished with a 966 total for 21st place. The Central Region's top eight teams advance to the NCAA Championship, joining the top eight teams from the East Regional and West Regional as well. In the 23 years of the NCAA Championships, this marks just the fifth time that the Hurricane has not qualified for the event.

The eight teams advancing from the central region are Vanderbilt, Arizona, Michigan State, USC, Baylor, Purdue, New Mexico and Texas A&M. Vanderbilt won the NCAA Central Regional with an 893 total after scoring a 288 in today's final round.

For the Hurricane, senior Julie Tvede led the way with a 232 total for 31st place. Tvede scored an 80 today, while junior Lee-Anne Pace had the only sub-80 round for the Hurricane on Saturday with a 79. Tulsa also counted an 82 from Suzie Fisher and an 85 from freshman Anna-Christina Kindgren. Sophomore Cas Bridge scored her worst round of the season with an 89.
