TULSA, Okla. (AP) - James Kilian passed for 232 yards and three touchdowns and Uril Parrish ran for 117 yards as Tulsa overpowered Southwest Missouri State 49-7 Saturday.

Kilian threw scoring strikes of 24 and 26 yards to Montiese Culton, who had 90 yards on six catches for Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane (1-3), snapping a season-long offensive slump, rolled up 33 first downs and 512 yards and also scored on a blocked punt and an interception return.

Southwest Missouri State (3-1), a Division I-AA team in the Gateway Conference, scored on its first possession but never threatened after that.

The Bears moved 39 yards on their first possession following Darren Barnett's interception of a Kilian aerial. Cody Pratt tumbled in from the 1 for the score, capping an eight-play drive.

Tulsa converted on a fourth-and-5 from the 24 when a scrambling Kilian found Culton in the left corner of the end zone with 5:31 left in the second period.

The Golden Hurricane took the lead when receiver Ashlan Davis slipped through the interior to block a punt by Jon Scifres then picked up the loose ball and scampered in from 13 yards out.

In the second half, Parrish ran 9 yards for one score and caught a 5-yard swing pass from Kilian for another. Clint Rountree returned an interception 41 yards to make it 35-7.

Kilian, who completed 23 of 33 passes, then found Culton wide open down the middle from 26 yards out and redshirt freshman Cauvey Jackson wrapped up scoring by dashing 16 yards for a touchdown.

Tulsa held Southwest Missouri State to 257 yards total offense.

Southwest Missouri State quarterback A.J. Porter completed 13 of 28 passes for 126 yards with two interceptions.
