Tulsa Post-Game Notes vs. Rice
• Tulsa now improves to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in C-USA.
• Tulsa has now won three straight road games. The last time that occurred was in the 2003 season when the Hurricane won at UTEP, Rice, and San Jose State.
• Ashlan Davis tied an NCAA record with his sixth career kickoff return for a touchdown with a 96-yard return in the fourth quarter. He tied the mark set by Anthony Davis (1972-74) of Southern Cal. It also tied his second longest career kickoff return.
• Davis also went over 100 yards for kickoff return yardage for the seventh time in 17 career games.
• Garrett Mills caught Tulsa's first pass of the game for sixth time in seven games. It also marked the 34th consecutive game in which Mills has caught a pass.
• Juniors Nick Bunting and Jeff Perrett increased their team-leading consecutive starting streaks to 29 games.
• This was the fifth game that Tulsa failed to score in the first quarter. The only two games this year that Tulsa has scored in the first quarter was Memphis and Houston.
• Tulsa's 21 first-half points ties for the season-high in a single quarter this year. The other time was in the fourth quarter against North Texas.
• For the second straight week, Tulsa had an offensive back run for three touchdowns in a game, as Uril Parrish had three against Rice and Paul Smith had three last week against Southern Miss.
• Uril Parrish had his second career game with three rushing TDs. His first game to accomplish that feat came against Nevada on October 18, 2003.
• Tulsa had its second fumble return for a touchdown this year as Bobby Klinck picked up a fumble and raced 19 yards. In the North Texas game, Anthony Germany had a 32-yard fumble return for a TD.
• This is the 18th time in 32 games with Steve Kragthorpe as the head coach that the Hurricane has scored more than 30 points, and the ninth time to score over 40 points in a game. Tulsa now has a 15-3 record when scoring over 30 points.
• Julian McGowen and Bobby Blackshire each intercepted a pass for the second straight game.
• For the second straight game, Tulsa threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown.
