Box Score

Honolulu - Sophomore Jillian Robbins poured in game highs of 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead Tulsa to a 72-62 victory over Hawaii in Western Athletic Conference play at the Stan Sheriff Center.

For the second straight game Robbins turned in a 30-point performance. After notching a school-record 38 points against Nevada in Tulsa's previous game, she connected on 11 of 19 field goal attempts and 9-of-11 free throws against Hawaii and registered 16 points by halftime. A WAC Player of the Year candidate, Robbins has scored 96 points in her last three games.

Tulsa improved to 17-8 overall and 9-6 in WAC action, while Hawaii dropped to 10-12 overall and 6-9 in league games. TU remains in a tie with SMU for third place in the WAC standings. The Hurricane has won its last four outings against the Rainbow Wahine and swept UH for the second straight season.

Tulsa dominated Hawaii in the paint, scoring half of its total points inside. TU built an eight-point lead at halftime and led by seven points, 51-44, when UH's Amy Sanders drew a foul on a made lay-up and then converted the free throw for the three-point play. Junior Megan Moody sparked a 16-6 run when she drained a three-pointer on the ensuing possession and Tulsa built its largest lead of the game of 17 points with 6:37 remaining. The Rainbow Wahine managed to slice the deficit to eight points with under a minute to play, but couldn't get any closer.

Moody joined Robbins as the only TU players to reach double figures with 16 points, 12 of which came from behind the three-point line. Tulsa shot 50.9 percent for the game and connected on nearly 60-percent of its attempts in the second half after shooting 45.5 percent in the first period. Robbins notched her 12th double-double of the year and the 21st of her career.

Senior Jade Abele led four Rainbow Wahine players into double digits with 15 points, while Sanders finished with 12 points and Janevia Taylor and Milia Macfarlane chipped in 11 and 10 points respectively. Hawaii out-rebounded TU, 37-35, but shot just 34.8 percent for the game.

The first half featured 10 lead changes and five ties. Hawaii used an 8-0 run to take a 31-30 lead, but junior Kara Pongonis sandwiched a pair of treys around three points from Robbins and a lay-up by sophomore Tandem Mays to take a 41-33 halftime lead.
