#52 Tulsa Men's Tennis Team Wins Doubles Point but Falls to #27 Wake Forest

Tulsa, Okla. - The No.52-ranked University of Tulsa men's tennis team dropped its fourth straight match of the season to the #27-ranked Wake Forest, 5-2, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, despite getting out to the early lead after winning the doubles point. TU is now 9-5 on the season.

The Golden Hurricane jumped out to an early lead as it won the best of three in doubles action. Achim Roth and Aleksander Charpantidis defeated Derrick Spice and Brett Ross, 9-8. Diego Camacho and Andy Connelly paired up to defeat Todd Paul and Marius Adamski, 8-5.

Freshman Will Gray was TU's lone victory in singles competition. Gray defeated Marius Adamski, 6-3, 7-6. In the number one ladder position, Roth dropped his match to Spice in a three set thriller, with Spice winning 6-3, 0-6, 7-5. Federico Soriano lost to #71-ranked Todd Paul, 2-6, 2-6. #70 Andrew Hamar defeated Aleksander Charpantidis, 6-4, 6-2. And Wake Forest's third ranked player, #77 Brett Ross, posted a 7-6, 6-3 win over Ricardo Soriano.

TU returns to action March 5, as they travel for the first time this spring, to Mobile, Ala. to the Blue-Gray Classic.
