Tulsa Women Place 23rd at the NCAA Championships

Lee-Anne Pace had the best round of the tournament for the Hurricane with a score of 71 in the final round of the NCAA Championships.

Sunriver, Oregon - The Tulsa women's golf team carded its best round of the tournament with an eight-over par 292, but the Hurricane still finished in 23rd place at the NCAA Women's Golf National Championships on Friday. Tulsa finished with a score of 1222 for the 72-hole tournament at the par 71 Meadows Golf Course at the Sunriver Resort.

Duke captured the team title with a score of 1170, while the top-five teams were rounded out by UCLA (1175), Auburn (1176), Pepperdine (1179) and California (1180)

Oklahoma State finished in 8th place with an 1190 total, while Arkansas finished in sixth place with an 1197 total.

Tulsa senior Lee-Anne Pace had the best round of the day for the Hurricane with an even-par 71 to finish with a score of 302 for 60th place. Junior Cas Bridge had her best round of the tournament, by five strokes, with a one-over par 72. Freshman Leisl Hasbrouck fired a round of 74 today while finishing with a 54-hole total of 306 for 86th place, while Bridge's four-round total of 309 placed her in 96th place.

The duo of freshmen, Polly Travica and Michaela Cavener, each turned in rounds of 75 today. Travica finished with a total of 311 for 105th place, while Cavener finished in 115th place with a 316 total.

Duke's Anna Grzebien of Duke captured the individual title with a two-over par 286 total.
