TU Continues to Dominate the Central Region Championships

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's men's squad continued to outmatch the competition on day four of the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships, setting up an all Tulsa final in doubles, while Ricardo Soriano move to the singles final.

In singles, Ricardo Soriano picked up two more wins to earn a place in the finals. He opened the day with a 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (4) win over Marek Vilicka of Oklahoma before dispatching Arkansas' Blake Strode, 6-2, 6-3. He will face Oklahoma State's Ivan Puchkarov who defeated TU's Federico Soriano in the semifinals, 6-1, 6-0, after knocking out another Tulsa player, Will Gray, in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

Federico Soriano did win his first match of the day, downing Drake's Sergi Vila, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

In doubles play, a win by Ross Cunningham and Diego Camacho over Ricardo Soriano and Lucques Maasdorp, coupled with Arnau Brugues and Federico Soriano advancing after the Oklahoma State duo withdrew due to injury, set up an al Golden Hurricane final.

The final matches will be played at 3 p.m. on Monday at the indoor facility at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the TU campus.
