Tulsa, Okla. - Back-to-Back three pointers by freshman Valerie Siemens with just over four minutes left in the second half gave TU the lead for good as TU pulled away for a 69-60 victory over the Oklahoma Flyers on Friday night. A crowd of 1,094 witnessed Siemens score eight points in 55-seconds turning a one-point deficit into a seven-point lead. Tulsa would extend its lead to as much as 11 points over the final minutes.

Siemens was one of three TU players with double-digits in points. Freshman Larrissa Williams led the squad with 16 points to go along with five rebounds. Senior All-American candidate Jillian Robbins recorded a 14-point and six rebound performance as well. Freshman Micaela Culley led TU with a game-high five assists while senior Tandem Mays added four assists. All 10 Hurricane players saw action in the contest, with nine players breaking into the scoring column.

A free throw by freshman Teka Brooks gave TU an early 13-7 lead with 12:02 left in the first half. However, the Flyers went on a 15-2 run to take a seven-point lead with 6:22 left in the opening stanza. The run opened with a three-pointer by Katie Snodgrass and ended with five consecutive baskets by former Hurricane Emily Jaskowiak. The Flyer would hold on for a 34-31 advantage heading into halftime.

Tulsa returns to the court on Monday by hosting Cameron at 7 p.m. in its final exhibition game before opening the regular season.
