Tulsa to Host Bertha Teague Classic This Saturday

The University of Tulsa (3-3) women's basketball team returns home after a four-game road swing to take on #3 Oklahoma (5-0) in the Bertha Teague Classic beginning at 3:30 p.m. on December 2nd at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Oklahoma State and Oral Roberts will face off in the first game of the classic, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Center.
The Golden Hurricane posted a 67-59 victory over the Sooners in the last meeting, which was in the 2004 Bertha Teague Classic hosted by Oral Roberts University.
Tulsa will be led by senior forward Jillian Robbins, who averages 16.7 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game this season, and holds the school record for points (1,618), rebounds (1,033), field goals (575), free throws (462), blocked shots (202) and double-doubles (50), and is second on the books for steals (270).
Oklahoma will be looking to continue their five-game winning streak on Saturday against Tulsa. They are averaging 85.8 points per game, while holding a 22.2 scoring margin over their opponents. Four of their student-athletes are averaging double-figure scoring, including Courtney Paris, Chelsi Welch, Leah Rush and Ashley Paris. Courtney Paris leads OU, averaging 22.2 points per game and 15.4 rebounds per game.
The Tulsa-Oklahoma game will be aired on Cox Cable 3 in Tulsa and KAUT UPN 43 in Oklahoma City, and will be available on ESPN's Full Court Package, which is a subscription-based service.
