Tulsa Women's Tennis Team Falls to Ninth-Ranked Harvard, 6-1

The University of Tulsa women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to ninth-ranked Harvard on Sunday afternoon at the Murr Center Courts in Boston, Massachusetts. The Golden Hurricane owns a 9-5 record this season.Junior Santie Delport captured a 7-5, 6-2 upset win over 61st-ranked Elsa O'Riain in the No. 2 slot for TU's lone singles victory. Harvard's 113th-ranked Eva Wang tallied a 7-6 (3), 6-4 mark over Tulsa senior Daniela Muscolino in the No. 1 position, as 91st-ranked Melissa Anderson defeated junior Kindsay Grimes, 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 slot.
Grimes and Muscolino fell, 8-5, to the Crimson's third-ranked tandem, Anderson and O'Riain in the No. 1 doubles position. Delport and freshman Thalia Diaz-Barriga dropped their match at the No. 2 slot, 8-5, as senior Tiffany Smith and freshman Julie Westfall lost their match, 8-3, at the No. 3 position.
The Golden Hurricane will take on 56th-ranked Boston College on Tuesday, March 14th at 3:00 p.m. in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
