Tulsa Women Golfers in 15th Place at NCAA Central Regional

Cas Bridge had Tulsa's best opening round and is in 30th place at the NCAA Central Regional.

College Station, Texas - The Tulsa women's golf team is tied for 15th place in the 21-team field at the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships Regional Tournament.

The Hurricane carded an opening round 319 and is tied with TCU for 15th place on the par-72 Traditions Course. Southern Cal is the team leader with a 293 total, while No. 1 ranked Duke has a 294 total. Florida (301), Pepperdine (303), and Michigan State (306) rounds out the top-five teams.

The Hurricane is just 10 stroke behind seventh-place Ohio State and Kent State, as the top eight teams advance to the NCAA Championships.

Tulsa senior Cas Bridge turned in Tulsa's best round of the day with a five-over par 77, while sophomore Leisl Hasbrouck was one stroke behind with a six-over par 78. Bridge enters Friday's second round in 30th place, while Hasbrouck sits in 39th place.

Senior Danielle Roseberry cared an 81 and sophomore Polly Travica had Tulsa's final counting score of the day with a n 83. Tulsa's top golfer, Michaela Cavener, who has finished among the top-10 in her last four tournaments, suffered through her worst round of the season with a 17-over par 89.

Texas' Devan Andrews and Duke's Amanda Blumenherst are tied for first place individually as both golfers carded rounds of two-under par 70.

The top eight teams and two individuals will advance from the Central Regional and join the top-eight teams and two individuals from both the East and West regional tournaments to the NCAA Championships finals, May 23-26, at the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
