No. 27-Ranked Tulsa Men Kick Off 2007 Spring Season

Tulsa's Arnau Brugues opened the 2007 spring season ranked No. 6 in the nation.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The No. 27-ranked University of Tulsa's men's tennis team will kick off the 2007 spring season with a pair of matches set for 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, January 12 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Golden Hurricane will officially open the season when they face the Lamar Cardinals at 2 p.m., followed by the nightcap against Prairie View A&M at 8 p.m.

TU comes in as the highest ranked team in Conference USA in the team rankings, and is also well represented in the individual and doubles rankings.

Tulsa's Arnau Brugues opens the season ranked No. 6 in the nation, while Will Gray checks in at No. 34 and Ricardo Soriano ranks No. 90.

The Golden Hurricane also placed three doubles teams in the rankings, led by Diego Camacho and Ross Cunningham at No. 8. Brugues and Federico Soriano follow close behind at No. 12, while Lucques Maasdorp and Ricardo Soriano debut in the No. 43 spot.

After the opening weekend, in which TU will also face Arkansas-Little Rock at 11 a.m. on January 14, the Hurricane will be off until January 30 when they host No. 30 Arkansas at 6 p.m.
