Golden Hurricane to Take on Southern Miss on Thursday

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, February 1st to host Southern Miss beginning at 7:00 p.m. (CST) at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
The Golden Hurricane is coming off an 83-65 loss to Rice, and has tallied a 7-13 overall mark and a 2-6 Conference USA record this season, while the Golden Eagles dropped a 60-46 decision to UTEP in their last match up, and have an 11-10 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the league.
Jillian Robbins will lead Tulsa in the match up, as she owns a team-best 19.2 points per game, 12.4 rebounds per game, 63 steals and 29 blocks. Sophomore Jamie Dreiling posts 7.8 points per game, while Tandem Mays registers 7.0 points per contest. Mays also has a team-best 61 assists.
The Golden Eagles will be led by Amber Eugene who averages 17.1 points per game, Kendra Reed who posts 16.3 points per contest and Emer Foley who puts up 14.8 points per game. On defense, Kristin Chaney leads the team in steals (47), while Liz Biland owns a team-best 23 blocks this season.
Tulsa and Southern Miss have met just twice before, with the Golden Hurricane holding a 2-0 advantage in the series. TU picked up both wins last season, including an 81-68 victory in the Conference USA Championship semifinals.
