Tulsa Falls to Troy in Final Seconds of Thanksgiving Tournament

Tulsa, Oklahoma - A last second three-pointer by Larelle Roper gave Troy a 62-61 victory over Tulsa in the championship game of the Holiday Inn Select Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday evening at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU fell to 1-5 on the season, while Troy moved to 3-1 overall.
Teka Brooks tallied a team-best 16 points, and added five rebounds, an assist and a steal in the contest, while Tatum Beer and Chanel Johnson also posted double-digit points, with 13 and 10, respectively. Beer also led the Golden Hurricane with four assists, as Johnson registered a team-best five blocks and Larrissa Williams pulled down 11 rebounds.
For their efforts, Brooks and Beer were selected to the Holiday Inn Select Thanksgiving All-Tournament team.
Roper's shot was her only basket in the contest, while she added seven assists, two rebounds and a steal. The Trojans' Amy Lewis notched 23 points and Kylie Morrissy posted 15 points in the contest, and both were named to the all-tournament team.
TU returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 28, as the Golden Hurricane hosts Arkansas-Little Rock. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Center.
