Tulsa Routs Mississippi Valley State, 71-46

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Calvin Walls had his second double-double of the year with 12 points and 15 rebounds to lead Tulsa to a 71-46 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.
"Rebounds just get me going," said Walls, a 6-foot-7 senior who came into the game averaging 8.5 points and 7.2 points per game. "If I can keep my energy up for rebounding, it carries over for the rest of my game."
Ben Uzoh, averaging 16.1 points per game, led Tulsa in scoring with 16 points.
Tulsa (7-4) never trailed, with Uzoh scoring its first basket 11 seconds into the game, and held a double digit lead less than four minutes into the game. Tulsa held the double digit lead the rest of the game.
The Golden Hurricane scored the first eight points, and led 17-2 early before settling on a 33-16 halftime lead.
The lead reached as many as 27 points in the second half at 61-34 with less than eight minutes remaining.
Jerome Jordan, Tulsa's 7-foot center, had 12 points, eight rebounds, seven blocks and two assists.
Mississippi Valley State (2-9) was led by Michael Clark with 14 points. Senior transfer Larry Cox, who was playing in his first game of the year, added 11 points for the Delta Devils.
