Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's men's tennis team (5-2) used a win over No. 25 Cal to propel itself into the ITA/Fila Top-25 for the first time this season, landing at No. 24.
The Golden Hurricane have picked up wins over three teams that are in the most current rankings, No. 29 California, No. 41 Fresno State and No. 59 Arkansas.
Tulsa will get another shot at Arkansas when the Razorbacks come to the Michael D. Case Center for a rematch on February 15 at 4 p.m.
Tulsa won the last meeting between the teams, 4-0, to advance to the final of the Central Region Qualifier in January.
Arkansas enters the match-up with a 4-4 record and coming off a 4-3 loss to Oklahoma.
The Golden Hurricane enter the match with a 5-2 record and coming off a weekend with a 5-2 win over nationally-ranked Cal and a near win against No. 18 Texas.
TU is playing well, and there is no need to look any further than the reigning Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week Arnau Brugues. He is the No. 6 ranked player in the nation and has cruised to a 6-0 record in duel matches this spring. That includes a pair of wins against top-30 competition.
On down the road Tulsa will face a pair of Southeastern Conference foes, first taking on No. 40 Auburn at the Case Tennis Center before going on the road to face the No. 1 team in the nation Georgia in Athens, Ga.
