Tulsa Women's Hoops to Host Houston This Thursday

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team returns to action on Thursday, February 15th against Houston beginning at 7:00 p.m. (CST) at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on the TU campus. The Golden Hurricane is coming off a 62-61 loss to East Carolina, and has tallied a 9-15 overall mark and a 4-8 Conference USA record this season. The Cougars fell to Southern Miss, 63-51, in their last match up, and have a 7-15 overall record and a 4-8 mark in the league.
Senior forward Jillian Robbins holds the school record for points (1,992), as well as six other TU records, but looks to become the only women's player in school history to break 2,000 points in a career on Thursday. Robbins averages 19.8 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per game this year, and has a team-leading 79 steals and 45 blocks.
The Cougars will be led by Tye Jackson who averages 21.9 points per game, and has a team-best 63 assists and 36 steals. Ryan Meyers pulls down a team-leading 9.9 rebounds per game.
Tulsa and Houston have already met once this season, as the Cougars walked away with a 70-54 win in Houston on Jan. 25th. This season's win was the only victory for Houston over Tulsa, as TU picked up two wins last season for a 2-1 advantage in the series.
