Tulsa Captured 81-73 Comeback Win Over Houston

Tulsa, Okla. - Jillian Robbins posted 29 points and 12 rebounds for her 64th career double-double in an 81-73 victory over Houston on Thursday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tulsa moved to 10-15 on the year and 5-8 in Conference USA, while Houston fell to 7-16 this season and 4-9 in the league.
Robbins, who already holds the school record for points, captured her 2,000th career point in the contest. She also posted a team-best six steals and two blocks. Freshmen Valerie Siemens and Larrissa Williams tallied double-digit points with 15 and 14, respectively, and both pulled down seven boards. Senior Tandem Mays notched a team-leading nine assists.
The Cougars took a 41-36 advantage into the break, after leading for nearly the entire first half. Tulsa came out fired up in the second half and took a 44-43 lead at the 16:21 mark. TU and Houston kept it close, tying the game eight times, but it was Tulsa that walked away with the eight-point victory.
Tye Jackson led Houston with 22 points, while Sunshine Misa-Uli added 16 points and a team-best 10 rebounds, and Alona Obaze knocked down 11 points.
Tulsa will take on Rice in the final regular season home contest on Saturday, February 17th. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
