Tulsa Advances Three Boats to Semifinals at Dad Vail Regatta

The University of Tulsa advanced all three Eights to the semifinals on Friday afternoon at the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.The Golden Hurricane posted an impressive first-place time of 7:05.67 in the 2nd Varsity 8+, more than two seconds ahead of second-place St. Joseph. TU also notched two second-place marks with times of 7:14.48 in the Novice 8+ and a time of 6:58.83 in the Varsity 8+.
"We had the day we were looking for," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "You have to take it one race at a time to survive and advance, and we did a good job of that today. We really went after it and put together the best races of the season."
Lisa Simes and Danielle Guccione raced in the Varsity Pair for the Golden Hurricane and recorded a fourth-place finish in a time of 9:15.04.
Tulsa will continue competition tomorrow, racing in the semifinals at the Dad Vail Regatta.
