IRVING, Texas — The Big 12 has announced its annual individual rowing awards for the 2025-26 season, awarding Scholar-Athlete of the Year to Golden Hurricane senior Anna Lackner. This is the first end-of-the-year Big 12 award for The University of Tulsa, which was voted on by the league's six coaches.

An All-Big 12 honoree following the Big 12 Championship, Lackner served as the coxswain for TU's Second Varsity Eight, leading that crew through eight races in five regattas. The 2V8's top time of 6:44.14 came in the Big 12 Championship, where they came away with the bronze medal and helped Tulsa place third overall as a team. She also led the 2V8 to a photo-finish at Indiana's Dale England Cup, beating Michigan State to the finish line by just three-tenths of a second.

Lackner, originally from Tomball, Texas, maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in chemical engineering and energy management with a minor in economics and math at Tulsa. She also serves as President of the Tulsa Energy Management Student Association and President of Omega Chi Epsilon, the university's chemical engineering honor society, and has earned numerous academic and leadership honors including the Jess Chouteau Award for Tulsa's Top 10 Outstanding Seniors.
