Tulsa Takes Third at Big 12 Rowing Championship

SARASOTA, Fla. — The University of Tulsa rowing team took bronze Sunday in the Big 12 Championship at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla., highlighted by a runner-up finish from its First Varsity Eight (1v8+) crew and third-place performances from the Second Varsity Eight (2v8+) and Third Varsity Eight (3v8+) boats.
Golden Hurricane seniors Emily Bell, Bri Gfroerer, Anna Lackner and Letizia Susenna received All-Big 12 honors. Gfroerer, Lackner and Susenna are first-time all-conference recipients, while Bell becomes only rower on the TU roster with two all-conference awards after earning American Second Team All-Conference in 2023.
Tulsa beat out West Virginia (36 pts), Old Dominion (26 pts) and Kansas State (20) to take third place in the overall team standings. Kansas placed second with 61 points, and the nation's No. 11 team in UCF swept all five races to take the conference title.
