Tulsa, Okla. - Freshman Tatum Beer's layup with 1:21 left in regulation forced overtime and the Golden Hurricane rallied for a 75-62 victory over SMU on Saturday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU moved to 5-9 on the season and 1-0 in Conference USA, while the Mustangs fell to 10-4 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Larrissa Williams put Tulsa on the board with just 10-seconds ticked off the clock, but both teams traded baskets and tied the game for the sixth time, 15-15, at the 12:09 mark. SMU went on a 15-8 run for a seven-point lead with 4:33 remaining in the first half, but TU pulled to within three to go into the break down 34-31.

The Golden Hurricane trailed for the majority of the second half, as SMU owned a 59-51 advantage with just under five minutes remaining. Tulsa, however, fought back to tie the game and force the five-minute overtime period.

Tulsa out-scored the Mustangs 14-1 in overtime, holding SMU without a field goal in 13 attempts.

Beer had a team-leading 19 points and five assists, while Williams and Chanel Johnson each added 18 points. Williams pulled down 19 rebounds for a personal- and team-best, as Johnson had three blocks in the contest for 44 this season.

The Mustangs' Janielle Dodds had a team-leading 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Delisha Wills recorded 15 points and Katy Cobb added 10.

TU will continue home action on Friday, January 11th against Southern Miss. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
