Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought 59-50 decision to the OK Flyers on Tuesday night in an exhibition game at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Chanice Scott, Adria Phillips, Meoshi Bradley and Teka Brooks all tallied a team-leading eight points, while Scott and Larrissa Williams posted 11 rebounds each. Phillips also had a team-best four steals, and Bradley had four assists.
The Flyers jumped out to an 8-2 lead, but the Golden Hurricane battled back to tie the contest at the 14:13 mark, 8-8. Both teams traded baskets until TU reached a game-high five-point lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half, but it was the Flyers who had a one-point lead at the break, 25-24.
In the second half, the Flyers never relinquished the lead, which climbed to a game-high 10 points with just under two minutes in the game, and finished with a nine-point advantage.
Former Tulsa standout Emily Jaskowiak, along with Lacey Goldwire and Kesha Watson had 13 points to lead the OK Flyers. Amber Metoger also posted 11 points and had a team-best nine rebounds.
The Golden Hurricane will open the regular season at home against McNeese State on Sunday, Nov. 16th. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Center.
