The University of Tulsa women's basketball team dropped a 94-42 decision to sixth-ranked Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Tulsa fell to 3-6 on the season, while the Sooners moved to 9-2. The 52-point loss was the third largest one-sided loss in school history, falling shy of Duke's 54-point wins in 2002 and 2003.

"They are a very good ball club," Head Coach Charlene Thomas-Swinson said. "They didn't do anything we didn't expect, but they were better in transition than we had seen on film. Savannah Hamilton, Tiffani Couisnard and Teka Brooks all came in off the bench and gave us good minutes. We had 17 points off the bench, and even though Couisnard fouled out, I was pleased with her aggressive defensive effort."

Larrissa Williams led the Golden Hurricane with 13 points and two blocks, while ReShawndra Jackson posted seven points and Savannah Hamilton added six points. Tiffani Couisnard pulled down a team-leading seven boards and Teka Brooks recorded six rebounds.

The Golden Hurricane struggled in the first half, turning the ball over 17 times and shooting just 27-percent from the field to go into the break trailing 45-17. Tulsa also got into early foul trouble as Jackson and Couisnard had three fouls each in the first 20 minutes.

TU finished with 28 turnovers, six steals and shot 28-percent from the field in the contest.

Ashley Paris who tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Courtney Paris who posted 16 points and 10 rebounds led the Sooners. Nyeshia Stevenson and Danielle Robinson also turned in double-digit points with 18 and 13, respectively.

Tulsa will return to action on Monday, Dec. 29th against Texas-Arlington beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The game is one of three in the Tulsa Select Holiday Classic being played at the Reynolds Center Dec. 29-31.
