Tulsa Women's Hoops to Host UTEP This Saturday

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team returns to action against UTEP on Saturday, Feb. 2nd. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
TU is coming off a 64-56 win over Tulane on Thursday and posts a 9-11 overall mark and a 5-2 record in Conference USA. Larrissa Williams leads the Golden Hurricane with 13.7 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game, while Chanel Johnson and Tatum Beer also average double digits with 10.3 ppg apiece. Johnson owns an impressive 63 blocks, while Beer has tallied 58 assists and 40 steals.
The Miners have recorded a 16-2 mark on the season and are the only unbeaten team in C-USA with a 7-0 record in league play. They are coming off a 69-64 overtime win against SMU on Thursday. UTEP is led by four players scoring in double figures, including Jareica Hughes (13.1), Izabela Piekarska (12.2), Kasia Krezel (11.9) and Natasha Lacy (11.5). Timika Williams has a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game, while Lacy leads in assists (89) and steals (51), and Piekarska has a team-leading 49 blocks.
The Golden Hurricane and Miners will face off for the 19th time in school history, as TU leads the all-time series 10-8. UTEP won both of last season's contests, including a 66-56 victory in El Paso, Texas in the last meeting.
