Hurricane Women Golfers Open Spring Campaign

Fresno, Calif. - The Tulsa golfers will open the spring campaign at the Fourth Annual Kitahara Fresno State Invitational on Monday. The 36-hole two-day tournament takes place at the Copper River Country Club.
Tulsa is one of 16 teams to play the par 72, 6.072-yard course. The tournament will start at 9:30 am (PT) on Monday with tee times off of holes one and 10. The second and final round takes place on Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8:00 am.
Tulsa placed among the top-five in two fall tournaments, finishing in fifth place at both the Ron Moore Invitational and The Landfall Tradition.
Seniors Michaela Cavener and Leisl Hasbrouck pace the Hurricane. Cavener placed among the top-10 in three of four fall tournaments, while Hasbrouck's best performance was 12th place at the Wolverine Invitational.
Freshman Kelly Fuchik, who had two top-15 finishes in the fall season, and senior Tara Goedeken, with two top-20 performances during the fall, will be joined by newcomer Worri Shin to round out the Hurricane roster. A transfer from Auburn, Shin was the 2006 National Junior College Champion and two-time All-American while playing for Tulsa's Randy Keck at Redlands Community College.
