Tulsa Women Golfers Lead at UALR Classic

Hot Springs, Arkansas - The Tulsa women's golf team is in a first-place tie with Florida International after two rounds in the 21-team UALR Women's Golf Classic. Tulsa and FIU carded identical rounds of 305-300 for a 605 total heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes at the Diamante Golf Club.
Tulsa freshman Kelly Fuchik turned in rounds of 72 and 74 for a two-over par score of 146 for third-place and six strokes off the lead. Three Tulsa golfers are tied for 17th place as senior Michaela Cavener, junior Woori Shin and senior Tara Goedeken each shot a 36-hole total of 153. Cavener and Shin had identical rounds of 77-76 for their nine-over par scores, while Goedeken had rounds of 79 and 74.
Senior Leisl Hasbrouck finished the first day in 47th place with rounds of 81 and 78 for a score of 159.
Tulsa and FIU take a two-stroke lead over Texas State into Tuesday's final round. Host UALR is in fourth-place at 609, followed by Missouri State in fifth-place at 614.
Oral Roberts' Christy Carter is in first-place with rounds of 72-69 for a three-under par 141 total. The final round will take place on Tuesday.
