Tulsa Rowers to Race at Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's rowing team is set to compete at the 41st Annual Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship (SIRA) this Saturday-Sunday, April 19-20 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Golden Hurricane is slated to race in the Novice 4+, Lightweight 4+, Varsity 4+, Varsity 8+ and 2nd Varsity 8+.
"This is the second of three big weekends in a row for us," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "Last week the Fours did very well, but the Eights struggled to find speed. Since then we have had more practice and have found some speed, and now we have to apply it. Our goal is to advance to the finals and then work on winning the event."
If TU wins the Lightweight 4+ race, the Golden Hurricane would qualify for the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship this June in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
