Tulsa Women Golfers Place 19th at NCAA Championship

Albuquerque, NM - After a two-year absence from the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, the Tulsa women returned to the national event this year under first-year Head Coach Randy Keck.

Tulsa ended the tournament with a final round score of 304, its second best round of the tournament after an opening round score of 297, and finished the par-72 University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course with a 1228 total to tie 11th-ranked Oklahoma State for 19th place.

PAC 10 rivals Southern California and UCLA battled it out for first-place as the Trojans captured the team title with a score of 1168. UCLA followed with a score of 1174, while three-time defending national champion Duke finished in third-place with a1180 total after sitting in 18th place after the opening round.

For the Hurricane, senior Michaela Cavener placed 46th overall after turning in a 72-hole total of 302 following today's five-over par round of 77. Fellow senior Leisl Hasbrouck turned in the best round of the day for Tulsa with a three-over par 75 and finished the tournament with a score of 309 for 80th place.

Tulsa freshman Kelly Fuchik finished second among Tulsa golfers with a total of 307 for 68th place. She turned in a round of 76 on Friday.

Junior Woori Shin had a four round total of 319 for 109th place, while senior Tara Goedeken laced 116th with a score of 322.

Individually, UCLA's Tiffany Joh and Arizona State's Azahara Munoz tied for the best individual scores at 287.
