Tulsa's Arnau Brugues was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America At-Large Third-Team today.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa tennis All-American Arnau Brugues was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America At-Large Third-Team, as chosen by the Sports Information Directors of America. Brugues, a three-time All-America selection for his play on the tennis court, is the first Tulsa male tennis student-athlete to earn academic All-America honors

The three-time Conference USA Player of the Year has maintained a 3.69 grade point average in exercise sports science.

The Spring At-Large Team includes student-athletes from 12 winter and spring sports, including fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

Brugues, a junior, posted a 22-9 overall record this season and advanced to the NCAA Championships before being eliminated in the round of 16. He completed the season ranked 11th nationally.
