Tulsa-UCF Post-Game Quotes
Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik:
Opening statement...
"At this point in the year, they know us and we know them, and it gets ugly at times. However, I give them credit coming in on the road with a great player in Jermaine Taylor and competing in hard-fought game. I'm proud of the team because we found a way to extend the lead and win the game. They are a very good defensive team and yet we out-rebound them by 11 rebounds, and we had 16 assists on 27 baskets. I'm proud of the way we finished it out."
On Jerome Jordan's play...
"He has phenomenal hands, and some of those plays he made today were based on him being blessed with great hands. A lot of the passes were thrown over the top and it was just him going and getting it and holding onto it. For him to have that type of defense against him and to have the game that he had was definitely a good thing."
On Glenn Andrew's play...
"I think that his seven points off the bench, his enthusiasm, and the way he played doing the things we asked him to do, were as big as anything tonight."
Senior Ray Reese
On senior night...
"In my four years we haven't lost on senior night. I mentioned that to the players and told them that we had to keep that streak going, and everybody responded tonight. The win tonight will stick with me, because all I want to do is win."
On guarding Jermaine Taylor...
"He's a great scorer. He came in averaging nearly 30 points per game. He can shoot the three-pointer, post up, he comes off of screens and knocks down shots, and he shoot free throws well. He's an overall good player. He's as good a scorer and player as there is in the conference."
Senior Sam Mitchell
On senior night...
"It was a great way to end senior night by winning the game. Everybody played hard and we appreciate all the hard work that coaching staff and all the players have put in."
